With the launcher (recommended):

1. Download the launcher above.
2. Extract the zip anywhere on your PC.
3. Run ArborTales Launcher.exe. It updates the game, then launches it — log in to play (new accounts are created automatically).

Using the launcher-only download instead? Make a new, empty folder (for example C:\ArborTales), move the .exe into it, then run it. It downloads the full game into that folder on first launch. Keep it out of OneDrive, Desktop, and Downloads folders, which can interfere with the download.

• Antivirus warning? The client uses a custom DLL to connect, which antivirus tools often flag as a false positive. Allow the file or add an exclusion for the ArborTales folder.
• Game loads for a second, then closes with no window and no error? This is almost always the install location. Because it's a 32-bit game, Windows can reserve memory the client needs when it runs from Program Files (the 64-bit folder) or from a Downloads or OneDrive folder, which stops the client loading and closes it silently. Move the whole game folder to a plain path such as C:\Games\ArborTales (or Program Files (x86)) and launch again.
• Crashing, freezing at login, or seeing missing-DLL errors? The client needs the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables to load its connection patch — and because it's a 32-bit game, you need the older x86 versions, not just the newest one. Install the x86 builds of Visual C++ 2010, 2012, 2013, and the latest (2015–2022), then restart your PC. If a popup names a specific file, that tells you which one is missing: msvcr100.dll → 2010, msvcr110.dll → 2012, msvcr120.dll → 2013.
• Can't connect? Confirm your firewall isn't blocking the client, and that you're using the latest download from this page.
